Zirconium Crowns in Turkey
Capture the Aesthetic Change in your smile with “Zirconium Crowns”. Zirconium Porcelain teeth provide excellent and aesthetic appearance with their light transmittance and strengthened structures.
What is Zirconium Crowns?
When tooth coating is required, biologically compatible materials should be used in the mouth. After using plastic biodent material on metal for many years, the use of porcelain over metal became popular in the 1980s. Especially in the last 30 years, porcelain making on metal as a porcelain tooth coating has become widespread all over the world.
However, the metal under the porcelain sometimes causes allergic reactions in some people. Gingival bruising, which causes major aesthetic problems in the anterior tooth area, has also been one of the disadvantages of metal-based porcelain tooth coatings.
For this reason, intensive studies were started on full ceramic reinforced porcelains in the 1990s. However, no matter how much the porcelain material is strengthened, the use of only ceramics, especially in dental bridge applications, has not yielded successful results without infrastructure material.
At this point, the use of zirconium material, which replaced the metal infrastructure, came into play and in a short time, the properties of the zirconium infrastructure were improved and almost as durable as metal and much more aesthetic infrastructure applications than metal could be made.
Zirconium is used as a substructure material in dental coatings that replace the upper part of the tooth that is visible in the mouth around the damaged teeth.
Dental crowns treated with porcelain on zirconium substructure are called zirconium tooth crowns today. When it comes to zirconium crowns, zirconium crown crowns are expressed. While traditional porcelain crowns are attached to the teeth with metal support, durable and aesthetic dental veneers can be obtained with zirconium without metal.
Zirconium Teeth Design With Computer
The dentist prepares the problematic teeth in the mouth for coating. After completing the necessary dental treatments and restorations, it prepares the temporary teeth. For the final zirconium tooth coating, it is measured with silicone material orally. This measure should be accurate. The laboratory transfers the measurements taken by the dentist to the computer environment. The computer-aided design and computer-aided production phase, called CAD CAM, begins.
The dental technician prepares the zirconium infrastructure design to be made on this scale. How much bonding gap will be left between the tooth coating to be made in the program and the tooth in the mouth, the thickness of the material, the places where it meets the gingiva should be carefully entered into the program. This process should be done by trained and experienced dental technicians.
Today, there are applications called monolithic zirconium where the shape of the finished tooth is determined by computer design. In monolithic zirconium, only polish is applied on the zirconium coming out of the scraper and attached to the mouth. Aesthetically, we generally do not prefer monolithic zirconium crowns and bridges, as we get more perfect results when porcelain is processed on zirconium tooth coating.
Zirconium Dental Crowns
Zirconium material is used in dentistry as a cylindrical zirconium block. Scraping is done from these blocks on computer-aided production (CAM) machines. Zirconium infrastructure, which must have high physical properties to give durability to tooth coatings, gains its final durability with the hardening process called sintering.
The material is softer and easier to process before sintering. For this reason, the dental coating infrastructure is abraded from zirconium blocks before the hardening process. Then it is subjected to a special heat treatment, in other words, sintered to gain durability.
After this stage, the dental technician will work on the form and color that will give the aesthetic characteristics of the tooth on this infrastructure.
Properties of Zirconium Dental Crowns
Zirconium is used for two purposes in dental aesthetics or dental treatments:
Zirconium Crown is the dental term given to the upper part of the tooth that is visible in the mouth. Zirconium crowns are dental crowns with porcelain processed on which zirconium is used as infrastructure material that surrounds damaged teeth or replaces the upper part of the tooth. When it comes to zirconium crowns, zirconium crowns are expressed. While traditional porcelain crowns are attached to the tooth root with metal support, an aesthetic appearance without metal support can be achieved with zirconium.
Zirconium Bridge: Dental bridges are the connection of the body teeth prepared to replace the missing teeth or teeth to the existing teeth in the mouth next to the missing tooth in case of one or more missing teeth in the mouth. While porcelain bridges need metal support, zirconium bridges are the first choice for an aesthetic smile design as they allow metal-free bridges to be made.
Why Are Zirconium Dental Bridges Preferred?
The main reason why zirconium is the first choice for dental bridges in aesthetic dentistry is that instead of porcelains that have to use metal, zirconium allows bridges in natural tooth color and without metal.
Zirconium bridges are strong enough to be used without any problem, even in posterior molars. They can be used as a good alternative to metal bridges.
Zirconium has a very natural appearance not only as a tooth color but also structurally. It is very difficult to distinguish between natural teeth and zirconium dental bridges. Therefore, it helps you to have a natural smile in the absence of a single tooth.
Zirconium bridges allow you to have a more photogenic smile design than porcelain bridges. In zirconium bridges, when you take photos (in flash or natural light) on porcelain bridges supported with metal, opaque colors do not occur.
Zirconium full ceramic bridges are an allergen-free material.
Zirconium does not cause gum bruises seen in gum diseases.
In porcelain bridges, the gray layer that forms around the tooth and gum over time does not occur in zirconium bridges.
Gingival bruises, which are common in gum diseases and gum recessions, do not appear in zirconium.
Since zirconium teeth insulate the heat very well, it prevents the sensitivities that may be encountered in extreme hot / cold changes.
Since zirconium bridges are made of ceramic material, they are lighter compared to metal-supported porcelains.
Zirconium teeth, with their full ceramic structure, do not cause any impairment in metal taste perception like metal-supported porcelains.
Although many things affect the appearance of zirconium crowns, the most important is their reaction to light. Natural teeth are translucent. As a result, depth and vitality appear in the tooth. Porcelain or zirconium crowns without metal support have more depth and vitality due to their light transmission properties. They give the closest image to the natural tooth.
